Swish in WayPAY

Swish cannot be selected at checkout today. Here is what works instead, and why.

This page exists so the answer is one you can rely on. Swish is what Swedish customers expect, but WayPAY does not offer it today and nobody should discover that at the checkout. Card payment through Stripe is what works right now, and it covers Swedish cards like any other. Below is exactly where the limit sits, what would have to change to move it, and how to tell us if Swish is the thing you are waiting for.

Can you pay with Swish in WayPAY?

No, not today. Swish cannot be selected in the WayPAY checkout for bookings, rentals or invoices. Card payment through Stripe is what works.

Why is Swish not offered?

Stripe settles Swish in SEK from a Swedish business account, and WayPAY currently onboards Danish companies. Without Swedish onboarding there is no account that can receive a Swish payment. It is a limit in onboarding, not in the checkout itself.

What can customers pay with instead?

Card payment through Stripe, which works with Swedish cards and supports 3-D Secure. The checkout also offers MobilePay, but that is a Danish wallet that Swedish customers generally do not have.

Can a Swedish business use WayPAY today?

Payment onboarding is built for Danish-registered companies. Booking, rental and Direct POS cost DKK 0 per month and can be used without payment service, but the payments side depends on that Danish registration.

When will Swish be supported?

There is no committed date. Swedish onboarding is something we want to do, and Swish only becomes technically possible alongside it. We would rather give no date than one we cannot keep.

How do I register interest in Swish?

Get in touch through the contact page and say you are waiting on Swish. Those requests are what we actually go by when deciding which market comes next.
