WayPAY uses Stripe as its payment infrastructure. Stripe processes all card payments, MobilePay, Vipps, Swish, and other payment methods on WayPAY\'s platform. Setting up Stripe takes around 10 minutes and enables all payment methods immediately upon approval.

How does WayPAY use Stripe?

WayPAY uses Stripe Connect to process payments on behalf of businesses on the platform. When you create a WayPAY account and connect Stripe, your business is linked as a Stripe Connected Account. Customer payments flow through Stripe's infrastructure and are paid out directly to your bank account. WayPAY does not hold your funds -- Stripe pays them out on the standard schedule.

How do I set up Stripe for WayPAY?

  1. Create your WayPAY account.
  2. In the payment settings, click "Connect Stripe".
  3. You will be redirected to Stripe's onboarding flow.
  4. Provide your business details, bank account, and identity verification.
  5. Stripe typically approves accounts within minutes to a few hours.
  6. Once approved, all payment methods (card, MobilePay, Vipps, Swish) are active automatically.

What are Stripe's fees for Nordic businesses?

Stripe's standard fee for European businesses is 1.5% + 0.25 EUR for European cards, and 2.5% + 0.25 EUR for non-European cards. Local payment methods like MobilePay and Vipps have their own fees (typically 1.0--1.5%). WayPAY adds its platform fee on top of Stripe fees on completed transactions.
